We’ve been crazy busy here at Sutai during the last month. With the addition of the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes to our schedule, a number of fight nights and competitions it’s been an exciting place to train.
Also, the weather has started to dry up here in Phuket and High Season is truly upon us. While we did have a wet start to November, as the month went along the rain disappeared and we’ve had some beautifully sunny days.
So let’s start first with our Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu team update.
As you are probably aware Coach Nando and Coach Tony attended a BJJ tournament in Bangkok during November. Coach Nando came away with 2 medals, one gold and one bronze and Coach Tony came away with a silver medal.
Congratulations to both of our coaches on a great performance at the tournament. We also had a first time competitor Lucas from the gym who stepped onto the mats in the junior under 7 division.
As well as competitions, we have also added a number of new classes to the schedule (you have to attend one of beach training sessions.) You can see the latest schedule here
As for the Muay Thai gym we had a number of our trainers, sponsored fighters and team fighting locally here in Phuket as well as around Thailand in the past month.
You can see full videos of the fights uploaded to our YouTube channel, which you can visit here
For anyone who has trained here at Sutai before you may have met Keow who has been sponsored by us for for a number of years and recently returned to the gym after some time at home with his family. During November he had his comeback fight and walked away as champion by knockout in an amazing fight. Congratulations to Keow, you are such a credit to the gym we are really proud of you and truly believe you will be a great fighter in years to come, thanks also to the entire training team here at Sutai. Check out the fight here:
Finally, we are excited to see the Sutai Juice bar open its doors next month, we will be offering nutritious juices, smoothies & shakes, the perfect accompaniment to your workout and a great place to hang out and watch the training. We are also looking to add clean snacks to the menu to help you ‘fuel up’ after your workout too.
