The 6th Feb also know a the International Muay Thai Day has been turned into an Muay Thai week for the Sutai team this week!!

This week has been crazy so at Sutai, not only do we have the busiest fight calendar of the year but we are also launching our shiny new website too!

So far this week we have seen great performances from Martin at Galaxy stadium in

Patong, winning by KO in the first round and also Kohnoknah taking a deserved win in Rawai and bringing home yet another belt for the #sutaifamily collection!

Last night we saw Briain from Argentina and Lea our newest female fighter from Denmark in the ring at Bangla stadium, Patong. This was Lea’s first fight since arriving in Phuket one month ago. Lea is the current Denmark champion and after we met her last year we could see she had talent and real passion for Muay Thai so we were more than happy to offer her sponsorship to be part of our team, female fighters are also very important to us at Sutai and she is a great addition to the team, helping and encouraging all the other females in the gym reach their goals. Last night she went the full distance against a fighter from Phuket top team and her speed and combinations where too much for her opponent taking the win on points. Brain had a tough fight against an experienced fighter however it wasn’t his night and lost a close fight by decision, next time he will come back stronger.

Our much loved female trainer and fighter, Beaukeuw set off for her fight in Koh Samui Tuesday morning, traveling with a large convoy of fans and with Martin in her corner. She never fails to entertain and like usual won her fight against a tough and talented fighter from Norway. Now its time for her to come back and share all her talent and wisdom with her students, as we all miss her. Congratulations Kru!!

Also up in the capital city, Bangkok we had our two Brazilian fighters battling in 2x 4man Tournaments. Jorge fought in the 63kg tournament and Alex in the 72kg tournament. This was a big event for our two fighters, up against some top fighters across Thailand. Alex unfortunately had lost in the first round of the tournament, but Jorge won a great first fight against the well known, Willie Sitmonchai and went through to the final but lost a very close fight by decision. A great performance for his first time competing in Bangkok. (photo credit @yoksutai)

Now we move on to Friday and another super fight in store, a must see fight on Thai TV channel One31HD.  Daraeak Sutai will be fighting in the semi finals of the MX Muay Thai Xtreme, 60kg tournament. Last year our fighter Craig Dickson was crowned MX Champion not once but twice in two different weight categories and we hope to have another belt to our collection very soon.  Daraeak is one of the most entertaining fighters not only for his speed and power but also how he likes to wow that crowd and pull out some fancy moves, one of his favorites been the ‘Saenchai kick’. This time he will be facing Carmelo Marchese from Switzerland. Don’t forget to tune in from 8:45pm!!

And to end the week we have two of our fighters Mark from Scotland and Max from Argentina  jumping over the ropes at Patong Stadium, Max was with us last year and enjoyed himself so much he has now booked to join us for a year, this will be his first fight since been back at camp and along side him with be our newest male fighter to the team, Mark from Scotland. Mark is 21 years old and is the current UKMF Scottish Champion at 63.5kg, since arriving he has been put through his paces in intensive fight training with the rest of the fighters and we look forward to seeing him in the ring this weekend.

The highlight of the week though has to be Gabrielle Mazzetti, this Saturday night!! He set off early today for China for the fight of his career in the Top King World Series  finals, with Craig Dickson in his corner. Gabriel will be facing potentially two fight in the same night, first he will be facing Bobirjon in the semi finals and then we hope to seeing him through to the finals, to bring home the Top King belt. He has been training tirelessly for this fight and is prepared to bring home the title, at just 20yrs old Gabriel has taken the muaythai world by storm not only in Thailand but also in America and his home country in Peru. This is a fighter that if you are not already following you should be. We hope to bring with belt back for not only Gabriel and the Sutai Team but for his home team/family F-14 in Peru that have raised him in the world of Muay Thai. An interview video will be coming soon with our fighter, Gabrielle Mazzetti.
